6 out of 10

You've just got to love a library benefit sale! ;)

As for this book....not bad, but I'm still trying to puzzle out the big fan base behind this author. The men are just too neanderthal for me, kinda like Christine Feehan, another author whose mass appeal escapes me. Leigh does action okay, but overall I'm just not very attached to these characters.

And there's one little...barb...in this book that totally icks me out! I don't think she meant it to work that way, but yuck! :shudders:

Book Description:
Cursed with the power to feel other peoples' emotions, Megan Fields has tucked herself away in a remote corner of New Mexico, working as a small-town sheriff's deputy. She finds solace in the silence and heat of the desert. But when Breeds begin dying on her watch, Megan realizes that the secrets from her past can't stay buried forever. Someone is out for blood - her blood.

An arrogant Feline Breed, Braden Arness broods with feral intensity. His mission to solve the mysterious murders brings him to Megan, a woman who accosts his senses like no other. Only with him can she let down her guard - and surrender to the insatiable hunger that wracks her body. But as they team up to hunt the elusive killers, Braden and Megan find themselves becoming the prey...

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

OK, I've now read two other books in this series -Dawn's Awakening and Tanner's Scheme - and have gotten more into this storyline. (Not that those are in order or anything.) So should anyone else be feeling like this is a little too much macho in the desert, they aren't all exactly the same!

Anyhooo, this is now headed off to a new reader in Indiana who was looking for it via PaperBackSwap. Happy reading! :)
