An amazing book & one that deservedly won the Whitbread Book of the Year Award, IMO.
It may be classed as Children's Fiction but it is definitely one worth reading by any age range. If you ever wondered what Asperger's Syndrome is, been curious about the mindset or how it affects the sufferer & those around them, then you need to read this book.
Don't expect a totally happy read though - it's a fascinating book that's more to do with making you think....... especially about your own and societies attitudes to those human beings who are most definitely "different".

It was offered to a new home on the previous owner's blog. As others had commented on how good the book was and it had been on my 'shall I read it' list I offered it a new home. As I'm currently reading Ruth Rendell's 'Not in the Flesh' it will be read once I have finished that. In all probability that means it will be started later this week. I plan on releasing it back into the wild when I visit Keswick later this month.

A great read, the proof of which was the fact it kept me up late at night just having to find out what happened next.

Another book that proves children's books shouldn't be ignored by adults . Having read it it is easy to see why it was the Whitbread Book of the Year as it gives you a unique perspective on the world through the eyes of the main character Christopher who has Asperger's Syndrome. Don't make the mistake of thinking this book is all about Asperger's Syndrome, it isn't there is a great storyline that would be just as gripping if Christopher didn't have Asperger's.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Released at Eskdale Camping and Caravan Club site in the dishwashing and information area. I put it with the other books that they have there for campers to read. When I returned 2 hours later to wash up the book was gone. It didn't reappear whilst I was there (I left on 1st July)so hopefully it's making a great holiday read for somebody.
