Journal Entry 3 by wingRochester74wing from Gießen, Hessen Germany on Saturday, October 4, 2008

The book arrived safly and I will start to read tomorrow.

P.S. Leseschaf, Du hast ja schicke Aufkleber!!

Journal Entry 4 by wingRochester74wing from Gießen, Hessen Germany on Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Of course I had to read this book, but I tried to have little expactations. Reading letters from Elizabeth is less entertaining, than conversations between Lizzy and Darcy. There are no high emotions in this book. And the apperance of characters of the other novels is wired. It seems the author wanted to put too much into one book.
But still, I love all the characters of 'Pride and Prejudice' and so I enjoyed reading this.

The book will be send to urfin tomorrow.

I found the book in my mailbox on Saturday when leaving for a long weekend :o) so it came along, and I finished it before returning home. It was entertaining enough but, similarly to Rochester74, I felt that Lizzy would be much more open to Jane, and write about more than just organisational issues... There was one pragraph that made me cry, a little, not more.
Still, I had not read anything Austen for some month, and I'd like to follow these letters further... Is there a 2nd year, perhaps?

I really enjoyed this book! It's one of these good-mood-books that you just can't stop reading. I can't wait to read the sequel. Urfin - are you making it a ring? I also really want to read the Darcy-side now. The book is going on to tourvel tomorrow. Enjoy!

This book arrived safely in my mailbox this morning!
Thank you for the nice postcard of Aachen Rathaus! I was there 10 days ago and had lunch at Die Post (and you can see it on the right side of the Rathaus in the postcard! :-) )

Journal Entry 12 by Brujula from Valenciennes, Nord-Pas-de-Calais France on Wednesday, February 25, 2009
I've really enjoyed reading these Letters from Pemberley. The atmosphere of Austen's novel, as well as the characters are well imitated, and one would just like to go on reading on and on.
Thank you for sharing this!

Ok, so I first read P&P when I was about 13 and the book hasn't left me since (it's still on my bedside table as I am writing this). I've read it countless times and know most of it by heart. In short, I'm addicted;o) Anyway, I tried not to have high expectations before I started reading this book and really did my best to like it but I'm afraid I didn't... I just found it boring! And as Rochester74 pointed out, the book just lacks emotion.

Thanks for sharing anyway Lesechaf!

I've already PMed Martjxox for his/her address and will forward the book ASAP.
