It was clear to Amy Leatheran that something sinister was going on at the Hassanieh dig; something associated with the presence of ‘Lovely Louise’, wife of celebrated archaeologist, Dr Leidner.This wasn't particularly memorable, but I still remember some of the details, and it was a gripping read at the time: I was towards the end on my morning commute and just had to finish it when I got to work before starting the actual work. The one thing I remember most vividly I'm not sharing here because I don't remember anymore whether it was established as a mystery right from the start or not, so even mentioning it might be a spoiler.
In a few days' time Hercule Poirot was due to drop in at the excavation site. But with Louise suffering from terrifying hallucinations, and tension within the group becoming almost unbearable, Poirot might just be too late…
