From the back cover:
"Known for his chilling *Blackwater* series, author Michael McDowell left behind the unfinished manuscript for *Candles Burning* upon his death in 1999. In the spirit of the ghost stories that Michael loved, Tabitha King has taken up where he left off..."
I really enjoyed the *Blackwater* books, so I just had to pick this one up and give it a try. Hmmm, yeah - dysfunctional Southern family, eerie happenings, secrets and hidden meanings - I was there. Until the end. That was IT? Maybe it was me, but it seemed as though a ball had been dropped somewhere.
Still, an enjoyable enough read most of the way through. Perhaps another reader will like the ending better.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I found this on LyekkaMarengo's wishlist, and she said she'd still like to read it. Yay! I'm heading out to the post office to mail it now.
I don't know if you remember, LM, but when I first joined BookCrossing ages and ages ago, I did a BC display at a local book festival. You were one of the wonderful supportive people who sent me books (and fliers, I think!) to help make that a success. So I'm delighted that the chance to do something for you has come back around!

Thanks for the book. Amazon reviews are sort of mixed but I'll give it a try.
I saw you JE and I thought your screen name sounded familar. Glad to be of help. Just let me know if you see anything of mine you fancy.

Took out of an LFL in Stroudsburg. A lack of JE makes me wonder if LyekkaMarengo released it here (or maybe I picked it up before you could set release notes?) or if an AF did.
Either way looking forward to reading this book

Didn't grab me, I'm not a huge mystery/thriller fan. When I picked it up originally I was kinda interested that Stephen King's wife was co-writing this. Will be hopefully moving this into the otherworldly box.
Went into the otherworldly box. And released for the Royalty challenge for “King” in the authors name.
I was the last in line for emmejo’s most recent Otherworldly book box. I didn’t realize the box was lost in my basement in August and only recently discovered as we were packing up items for the library. emmejo is in the process of moving so we agreed that I would pass along those that we won’t read. I apologize for not moving them along sooner!
Passed to a friend to read.
Passing along to Fox High School's Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) organization for an event they are hosting.
