Journal Entry 1 by dawni from Windsor, Ontario Canada on Saturday, April 19, 2003
Purchased new, a couple of years ago, at London Drugs (I think?). Frank McCourt, in a memoir of his "miserable Irish Catholic childhood" (his words, not mine!), successfully manages to infuse wry humour into a thoroughly depressing account of a life of poverty and its associated misfortunes and tragedies. I absolutely love this book (and, incidentally, the movie, which in my opinion actually stayed fairly true to the spirit of the book). As I release it "into the wild", I hope it finds its way into the hands of someone who enjoys it as much as I have. dawni
