Overall I did enjoy the book, especially the literary references, and Brock Clarke writes very well. But sometimes he does take these side trips from the primary story, going on for two pages about someones history or a simple walk, and none of it is particularly relevant to the story. Overall, however, it was worth reading.

Odd book, interesting premise. Unlikeable protagonist and family. Reads almost like a stream of consciousness in places. Best thing about it was the bit on the writers homes in New England, many of which we highlighted in our video clip we used in the Boston bid for the 2010 Anniversary Convention. (We didn't win, but will be hosting the UnConvention that year instead!)
