"The evil fairy Pernicia has set a curse on Princess Briar-Rose: she is fated to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into an endless, poisoned sleep. Katriona, a young fairy, kidnaps the princess in order to save her; she and her aunt raise the child in their small village, where no one knows her true identity. But Pernicia is looking for her, intent on revenge for a defeat four hundred years old."

I'm on page 275 of 422 in this book. I'll write a review once I'm done with it.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I'm sending this book out tomorrow to begin its trip on the bookring. Enjoy all.

Spindle's End is basically a novelization of Sleeping Beauty. I like the author's other books, Deerskin and Beauty, but find Spindle's End too long for my tastes. The plot is interesting, just not the author's best.

I received this book as part of the bookring. I'll start it tonight!

Journal Entry 5 by BecksterCa from Willits, California USA on Sunday, October 12, 2008
This is the first of the author's books that I've read. I really enjoyed reading it and am looking forward to reading more books by this author. It was a whole new twist on the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty.

I will be sending it to trojanpotato as soon as I get an address.

Put in the mail to innae!

I found myself struggling through this book even though I liked a lot of its elements. Also, I was prejudiced against the binding, even though it's good to have a hard cover for a book this thick.

This book is safe and sound in Colorado. I have to say, this is a BEAUTIFUL copy of this book. I am honored that snapdragon was willing to send it out to us on this ring!, thank you. I have another (rather large) ring book I am reading right now, but I will get to this as soon as I can!!

i finished this book while in Tennessee visiting relatives for Thanksgiving. I enjoyed it quite a lot, changes the basic Sleeping Beauty story I remember as a kid (not the Disney version though, although that one is good too :-) I will admit to getting a bit lost when the final battle came in...all the animals, and fights, and..eh? But I liked it up to that point, and I thought the ending was satisfactory.

I have PM'd Chantie (though not until today) -- I will get it mailed off as soon as I have an address :-)
