Two young American men decide to race each other around the world without using airplanes, for a prize of a bottle of scotch. One goes west and the other goes east, and this is the tale of their zany adventures including meeting a Brazilian graffiti gang, eating fried silkworms, trying out a custom jetpack, having a blind date in Sweden, and encountering fierce border guards in Mongolia.

I found much of this to be pretty funny. But I disliked the casual attitude of one man toward the rules he'd agreed to with his friend, and I sometimes found their sarcastic attitudes to be offensive rather than witty.

What a brilliant concept for a book! What fun it could have been....if it had been better executed. I, like hobbit, despised the fact that Vali cheated. It ruined it for me in so many ways. In addition, the four page "snippets" about each country felt so shallow and poorly written that they weren't very fun at all.

Hopefully, future readers will enjoy it more than I did. I sent it on to Marlene today who ended up with it in an Mt. TBR swap at bookobsessed.com

This book arrived today. Wow how quick! This was a nice surprise. I never check which books I will receive on zoho so it is fun when a book arrives.

Too bad you did not enjoy it that much root. I will give it a try cause it looks good. waves to hobbit.
