Journal Entry 1 by Kyrissaean from Littleton, New Hampshire USA on Thursday, September 04, 2008
I read this one years ago, during my historical romance phase. Catherine Coulter was never my favorite, but not bad if you're in the mood. I had a hard time warming up to the lead male in this one though. Book Description: Carolyn Derwent-Jones is at the eve of her 19th birthday, chomping at the bit to get out from under the control of her smarmy guardian, the frightenly obsessive Roland Ffalkes. She escapes him to find herself in the fascinating company of Frederick North Nightengale, Lord Chilton. Mysteries and murders old and new abound. Misogyny is rampant in Lord Chilton's house, Mount Hawke, filled with only men. But to his surprise, Lord Chilton finds he wants nothing more than to have Carolyn Derwent-Jones in his life.
