Journal Entry 4 by ciloma from Spirit Lake, Idaho USA on Tuesday, January 06, 2009
I just realized I did not make a journal entry for this when I finished reading it. (Bad me.) I enjoyed this book even though I didn't get so caught up that I couldn't put it down I did look forward to picking it up when I could. (That would mean in between bouts with the snow shovel...) I enjoyed the read, the writing style and the way the story carried me along.

Thanks, Cindy, for the surprise RABCK. I have never read Joyce Carol Oates, although I will be reading The Gravedigger's Daughter for my March book group. A nice surprise! Thanks again! Sending it along to Gothamgal as a trade. Enjoy!

Thank you very much for sending this as a trade for Reolutionary Road, valpete. I really appreciate it. It's a wishlist book. I really have enjoyed the books I've read by Joyce Carol Oates, so I hope this is no exception. Thanks, again.

Journal Entry 9 by gothamgal on Wednesday, June 03, 2009
Wow! I finished it. There are so many things going through my head, but not through this book. It was a solid beginning, believeable middle and an ending that I could believe, if not be happy about. Maybe it's partially because the narrator's name was Nicole, or maybe it was because the murder that happens and the events occurring after are so believable. I don't know. I lived in this book, but am happy it's over because it was tied up in the right way and the story stayed true throughout it. And, for what it's worth, I think the picture on the cover looks a bit like Rose Kennedy.
