The Xenophobe's Guide to the Germans

Journal Entry 1 by Bluemchenblatt from Courbevoie, Ile-de-France France on Monday, September 1, 2008
Xenophobia - an irrational fear of foreigners, probably justified, always understandable.
Xenophobe's Guide - an irrevent look at the beliefs and foibles of nations, almost guaranteed to cure Xenophobia.
Virtually all Germans have health problems, and if they don't, there must be something wrong with them.
Most of what ails them is stress related. No nation was ever more stressed, but this is understandable. After all, running Europe can take it out of you.
Xenophobe's Motto - Forewarned is forearmed.
Interesting, informative and full of humor!

I read the book and send it to Jessi626 ASAP.
11/26: I just finished reading the book. Quite funny but very exaggerated about the germans and their mentality.
I'll send it this week-end.

Arrived today, thank you! It's a very small book, so it's perfect for reading in bed. I'll start tonight, I think.
Finished today. Well, there's much truth in the book I think, but most of it is also very exaggerated.

This was quite an entertaining little read but I felt the majority of statements were totally exaggerated and I have problems taking the book seriously. But thank you for sharing. I hope this can continue its journey this afternoon.

sent to teenie-k in Canada 2 hours ago!
Book has arrived safely. I will read it soon and forward it to darkpunkangel.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I enjoyed this quirky and fun tongue-in-cheek look at Germans and the German culture. As the daughter of German immigrants, I can see some (exaggerated) truths within these pages.
I put this book in the mail today for darkpunkangel.
Thanks for the ring Bluemchenblatt!

Journal Entry 20 by Glotzfrosch from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Thursday, December 3, 2009
Arrived the other day; thanks to Aalita for sending me this book.
Edit: Thank you, Bluemchenblatt, for this interesting ring.
I was a bit disappointed, though, when I realized that this book was written by German authors. I hoped to get to see Germans from a foreigner's point of view, but now I got to see them from a German's point of view, who is trying to see Germans like a foreigner does, and have no way to know if he succeeded or not.
Maybe that's the reason why I agreed with almost everything in this book. But I'd like to hear from a foreigner: Are we Germans like this? Or do only we ourselves think we are?
