This book is much more technical than the others on my bookshelf on the same subject. It looks at the rage cycle and strategies for coping. It is written more for people dealing with asperger children in official capacity (it was on the reading list for a social worker friend!) but does have a chapter for parents. I passed this onto my son's teacher to read, hoping he would get some ideas from it. At the very least it leads to more understanding of the condition.

Thanks so much for this book, loopy. my son's problems all seem to stem from his inability to control his rages, so hopefully this will help me find a way to help him. Will return it as soon as we're done with it.

Thanks for the loan of this book, loopy1. My son was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder with mild autistic traits last summer - I can quite happily accept the ADD but the autism surprised me a little. However, through this book I've recognised various facets of him that are definitely autistic and I've been able to change the way I treat him sometimes to accommodate this, and things have been much better. Other changes have helped - a new school and an additive-restricted diet - so life here is a lot happier than it was six months ago!! Thanks again for this - I'll get it posted off to you in the next few days.

The book arrived back here safely, glad the book was useful. It will probably sit on my shelf now until it can help someone else out. Thanks also for the extra!
