Everyone Worth Knowing

Bette gets paid to party... And she can hardly believe her luck. Running with celebs, gaining VIP access to Manhatten's hottets clubs and meeting 'everyone worth knowing' is a million miles away from her old banking job.
When she turns up in the gossip columns with a notorious British playboy, it delights her publicity-mad new boss. But her family and her friends want to know what happened to the girl who loved bad novels, 80s music and always had time for them.
Can Bette say goodbye to the glamour and the Gucci and step back into the real world? And where will she find her own prince charming?
My own comment:
For some reason Lauren Weisberger doesn't really catch me. I'll choose Jane Green or Sophie Kinsella over her any day. That being said it's an ok book which has all the elements of a chick-lit.

I mailed this off earlier in the week to the next reader!
I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. I wasn't much a fan of Devil Wears Prada by this author, and although fashion and style were incorporated into Everyone Worth Knowing, I didn't feel oversaturated. I fell for Sammy, too, and the not quite romance cliche ending was sweet. Thank you so much for sharing with me!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sorry for keeping this book so long!
I just noticed that I just bought this book in Dutch. It's called "Gossip & Gucci" here. So this English version can travel on to the next reader - TaxManager. I mailed it off today. (Through surface mail; estimated time of arrival on destination: one week.)
I haven't read the book yet, but other books from Lauren Weisberger were always fun to read, so I expect that I'll like this one, too. (That's why I bought it myself.)
At first I didn't think I was going to enjoy it at all. It starts rather slowly but then I really got into it. Deep and meaningful it isn't but it is fun and as HunterRyu said the ending isn't quite as straight-forward as you might at first think it would be.
PMing carolisha for her address and will send this on as soon as possible.
Thanks for sharing - oh and for all the little things inside. I'm going to swap the recipe card as it sounds tasty!
Sending off to carolisha in Switzerland, the next in this ring. Enjoy :)
Will PM to get the address to return it to the owner....
Thank you for asking me to take part in the ring. I enjoyed it! Great thing!
sending it back to DitteL ... Thank you for sharing =)
Thanks for sending it my way.
It does have a very similar storyline to 'The Devil Wears Prada': girl ends up doing a job that she had not planned on doing that is way beyond her normal life experience, gets sucked in while never really feeling a part of it, then 'comes to her senses' and decides that she is better off without such a superficial lifestyle. Pure escapism and a light hearted read - I am glad that my social circle is not so obsessed about being seen in all the right places.
