From the back:

Bette gets paid to party... And she can hardly believe her luck. Running with celebs, gaining VIP access to Manhatten's hottets clubs and meeting 'everyone worth knowing' is a million miles away from her old banking job.

When she turns up in the gossip columns with a notorious British playboy, it delights her publicity-mad new boss. But her family and her friends want to know what happened to the girl who loved bad novels, 80s music and always had time for them.

Can Bette say goodbye to the glamour and the Gucci and step back into the real world? And where will she find her own prince charming?

My own comment:
For some reason Lauren Weisberger doesn't really catch me. I'll choose Jane Green or Sophie Kinsella over her any day. That being said it's an ok book which has all the elements of a chick-lit.

I can't believe it has taken me so long to read this book.
It is entertaining, but couldn't keep my eyes open more than a few pages when I finally could read in my bed!

Thank you for sharing Dittel!

I mailed this off earlier in the week to the next reader!

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. I wasn't much a fan of Devil Wears Prada by this author, and although fashion and style were incorporated into Everyone Worth Knowing, I didn't feel oversaturated. I fell for Sammy, too, and the not quite romance cliche ending was sweet. Thank you so much for sharing with me!

Arrived today, along with some business cards. Thank you! I have a few rings here at the moment, but I am keeping them moving. Thank you.

Sadly, this book isn't really working for me. When I would rather sit on the bus and stare out the window rather than read...... it tells me something. I have the next address and I will try to get this book into the mail this weekend. By next week for sure. Thank you for sharing!

Yay, this book arrived at my place! I'm really looking forward to this book.

Sorry for keeping this book so long!
I just noticed that I just bought this book in Dutch. It's called "Gossip & Gucci" here. So this English version can travel on to the next reader - TaxManager. I mailed it off today. (Through surface mail; estimated time of arrival on destination: one week.)
I haven't read the book yet, but other books from Lauren Weisberger were always fun to read, so I expect that I'll like this one, too. (That's why I bought it myself.)

Apologies for the delay in journalling. This arrived earlier in the week but I have only just got round to logging it. It looks good! Thanks for sharing, I will read it as my next book - which should mean I start it sometime next week.

Journal Entry 15 by TaxManager from Market Rasen, Lincolnshire United Kingdom on Friday, March 5, 2010
I added this to my wishlist at the same time as I picked up "The devil wears Prada" which was after I watched the film. I'd not got round to reading that when this arrived as part of a ring.

At first I didn't think I was going to enjoy it at all. It starts rather slowly but then I really got into it. Deep and meaningful it isn't but it is fun and as HunterRyu said the ending isn't quite as straight-forward as you might at first think it would be.

PMing carolisha for her address and will send this on as soon as possible.

Thanks for sharing - oh and for all the little things inside. I'm going to swap the recipe card as it sounds tasty!

A really funny story. I enjoyed reading it. I have to agree that the beginning is not that spectacular. It's actually a bit clumsy in my mind. However, I loved the end a lot.

Will PM to get the address to return it to the owner....

Thank you for asking me to take part in the ring. I enjoyed it! Great thing!

A good choice from the First Sentances Virtual BookBox I think. I have read The Devil Wears Prada and really enjoyed it so hopefully I will love this one too.

Thanks for sending it my way.

I took this on holiday with me and finished it today on the train from Middelburg to Haarlem.
It does have a very similar storyline to 'The Devil Wears Prada': girl ends up doing a job that she had not planned on doing that is way beyond her normal life experience, gets sucked in while never really feeling a part of it, then 'comes to her senses' and decides that she is better off without such a superficial lifestyle. Pure escapism and a light hearted read - I am glad that my social circle is not so obsessed about being seen in all the right places.

Picked it up at a B&B in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Nice to read a simple chicklit when coming home from work. Brought it home to Arnhem. Now my boy friend seems willing to try reading it. My bf is a housemate of Moem, a bookcrossing lady from the Netherlands. I'll see to it that the book will be set free to roam the world once more. More reading more good!

greetings,
Marit
