I am starting my Mission 101 (101 things to do in 1001 days) on 01JAN2009 and between then and 29SEP2011 one of my goals is to read so many of books I already own that I have less than 100 TBR books by the end of it. This book is going to be included in that challenge.

releasing at the Leeds meet tonight. I didn't finish this book. ot about two thirds of the way through, but decided that I found the narration rather tedious. Came out feeling I knew quite a lot about Catherine's love life but not a lot else.

I grabbed this off the table, well pretty much before it hit the table actually, at the York Meet Up as it looked to have my name written all over it. Unfortunately loobygraham's JE has dampened my enthusiasm somewhat! Will report back in due course - but don't hold your breath: my stack of unread biographies is almost as out of control as the novels :-)

I found this an interesting and readable account of the life and times of an amazing woman. Despite the complicated Russian names and the wealth of historical details, the author has written an accessible and straightforward story. I've added her biography of Anthony Trollope to my Wishlist on the assumption that she'll make his long life equally easy to follow. I trust its previous owners won't mind if I keep this tome in my Permanent Collection for a while as I think I might want to return to it later - Thank you!
