Journal Entry 1 by tqd from Sydney, New South Wales Australia on Monday, August 25, 2008
Discovered a whole heap of Virginia Woolf books on my shelves that I haven't read, and probably never will. So off they go, to find a better owner! From the back of the book, all typos mine: Those who consider that Virginia Woolf was too wrapped up in her art and set to take note of what went on around her, will be confounded by this witty, elegant and lucid polemic, which so magnificently argues the case for sexual equality and for women's liberation. Fr from being a rarefied treatise of Bloomsbury's notions of "literature", Three Guineas was a rather extremely pertinent and well-aimed opening shot in the battle which still rages today.
