5 out of 10

This is Zakaria's perspective on the balance of power in today's world -- basically, that the U.S. is still the lone superpower and will be for a long time yet, but our "shine" has been tarnished and our leverage has diminished somewhat. We owe this slightly lesser status to the "rise of the rest" as well as to the American arrogance and imperialism honed to such a fine art by Bush. Note that while I agree with Zakaria's overall conclusions, he originally supported the Iraq war and still rather condescendingly thinks that it would have been a good thing for us to impose a more moderate, democratic way of life on Iraq. And he's against arrogance and imperialism???
