I've already read this book earlier, but couldn't resist taking this from the book trade shelf of a library, because I like the story a lot. This copy isn't in a perfect shape and needs some fixing, but is readable, however. I hope it'll get many new readers in the future!

Thank you so very much for this. I think it might well be the very first time I've ever won anything in a draw (and I'm not just talking of bookcrossing draws), so this is a very pleasant surprise. I look forward to reading it and discovering what this very well known book is all about.

I've just finished reading this and have totally loved the beautiful way in which it is written - wonderful language and quite an intriguing and unusual story that makes you think, and does not spell out the how and why of everything (the circumstances of these children ending up on the island remains a mystery to the end). I will hope to read some more by Golding in the future.
