to be honest, for me it did not live up to the hype. But then i dont tend to like short stories that much so maybe thats why - oh well!

An interesting selection of short stories. It is the first one which is on the 1001 list, but the others are worth a look. I imagine that it was shocking at the time, women trying to take control of their own lives.

This book is a collection of several short stories, the first one being "The Yellow Wallpaper". I've read only this one so far.
I liked it, although I would have found it more interesting if it were a novel, with more developed characters and plot. I liked the way Gilman writes, and the way she conveys the character's thoughts and feelings.
It's also interesting to read the introduction and to understand the similarities of the story and Gilman's life.
