Got this book in the mail today. Thanks fireblossom! Can't wait to read it. This is one of those classic books I've been wanting to read since forever.

I can't believe I've had this book for so long! Anyway, I finally read it. The writing style reminded me of Hunter S. Thompson. It's a great book - full of hope and excitement and discovery. I just read an article about this book (it's the 50th anniversary) that described it as having an undertone of sadness and loss. I think that's true - especially considering the end of the book.

Saving this one to put in a bookbox headed my way.
