Journal Entry 1 by HeatherA from Corlette, New South Wales Australia on Thursday, August 14, 2008
In one terrible moment paramedic Sophie Phillip's life is torn apart. Her police officer husband, Chris, is shot on their doorstep and their son, Lachlan, is abducted from his bed. Suspicion surrounds Chris as he is tainted with police corruption, but Sophie believes the attack is much more personal, a consequence of her own actions. While Chris is in hospital and the police, led by Detective Ella Marconi, is mobilised to find Lachlan, Sophie's desperation compels her to enlist the help of her husband's partner, Angus Arendson, in the hunt for her son. But will the history they share & her raw materanl instinct lead to an even greater tragedy?

I enjoyed reading this book more than I expected to since its not really my preferred genre. I really liked all the familiar Sydney locations the author details (it made me a bit homesick) although I think she might have been a little too obsessed with the 'where' at times. I am sending this off as a RABCK and I hope she enjoyes it too.

This book wasn't bad. I didn't realise that it was set in Sydney until I started reading it, I was just expecting it to be another American thriller but I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the book, it was a good read.
