New book, new book! :)
I've just bought it and already started reading - It's a lot of fun so far.

Journal Entry 2 by wolkenklang on Monday, August 18, 2008
This book is just: HILARIOUS! :) Nothing else to be said. Read yourself.

(What makes it a 9-star-book instead of a 10-star-book is that the plot becomes a little foreseeable during the last chapters).

Journal Entry 3 by wolkenklang on Monday, August 18, 2008
As I found the book hilarious I would really like to share it with others, so if there are enough people interested there is going to be a bookring.
The book is fun, with good writing style, and you'll find yourself laughing all the way through.
BUT: As a reader you should really be able to feel into the idea of being married, having children (and all the fuss they can create in an instant, affecting the entire environment ;) doing housework and so on.
It's not a single-girl-chicklit-type book, but has the chicklit fun factor.

A few guidelines for making this a successful bookring:

Please journal the book after it has arrived at your place. Then, please try to read it within a month. (Of course there might always be circumstances that keep you from reading it quickly. I just ask you to at least try to be quick in order to keep the book moving.) After you're done reading, please PM the person next in line for their address. Please note that the shipping order may change as the bookring will stay open for new participants to come on board, so please make sure to doublecheck in the book's journal who's next. Seamail is always fine - Nobody should spend a fortune on sending the book.
Most importantly: Have a good time reading and enjoy the book!

I love blogging, so naturally I love blogwalking and reading other people's blog. It all come down as my hobby to read diaries.

Soo when I got an opportunity to read the book, I simply cannot put the book down. Ok, it wasn't so hilarious as the reviewer said, still the story is addictive. How a housewife managed to keep her sanity over her daily problems. What I love most is the book cover: funny..witty..simple yet inviting.

I'm truly sorry I forgot to journal this book when it arrived, it totally slipped my mind. As a new mother to a 7 week old baby I am starting to feel like a demented housewife. Apologies to all for the delay.

I have just finished another bookray so will be starting this one immediately and will be sure to get it on its way as soon as possible.

A fun read. Posted off to violetcrumble today.

Journal Entry 13 by violetcrumble from Wanneroo, Western Australia Australia on Friday, December 5, 2008
Arrived safely on the 3rd Dec.
Added to the Mt TBR, ;)

Finished on 9th Jan, I was dissapointed with the book. I found it irritating not funny and even checked to see if the author actually had children. I'm very glad to say I don't know any mothers like this.
Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it, who knows.

Thanks for the chance to read this even if it wasn't quite my cup of tea in the end.

Happy reading everyone!

I don't usually read chick-lit but the title intrigued me. This was a fairly quick and cute read, many parts had me chuckling out loud. The story line was a bit predictable but didn't disappoint.

Packaged and ready to ship to sunfi in the morning!

Yippee! A book-shaped envelope in my post box. What will it be? "Secret Diary of a Demented Housewife"! Oh, goody, I can hardly wait to read this. Will I be able to contain myself and let the other ringbooks on my shelf go first? We'll see...

Journal Entry 28 by bookguide from Wijchen, Gelderland Netherlands on Wednesday, November 4, 2009
Very recognisable, how a stay-at-home mum (like myself) can get bogged down in the day-to-day slog of housework, food shopping, and hum-drum childcare, and feel like everyone else is out there having fun or enjoying the perks of a high-flying career. Especially if your husband is working very long hours, and the rest of your friends are not yet married with children. Luckily most of my friends are in a similar situation to me, so we can all get together and have a good moan about it, which cheers us up no end;-) So I can sympathise with Susie, although it was all laid on with a trowel for comic effect. I particularly enjoyed the antics of her parents, and the fact that she was so upset that they were having so much more fun than her, and being too computer-literate for her taste. Apart from the fact that Susie obviously needed to "get a life", her husband definitely needed to rethink the work-home balance, and her daughter was a right little madam! Not really surprising when Louise and Susie were behaving like sulky teenagers.

As chick-lit-ish diarists go, Bridget Jones is still the queen, but this one was good fun, even though rather too self-pitying and self-obsessed. I enjoyed it, and enjoyed delaying my housework to read it. I will contact Christoffel for her address and send it on as soon as possible.

Although this book looks really enjoyable to me, I'm sending it on unread. This book has been way to long at my place, and told me that it wanted to travel again. The book didn't like the cold winter with lots of snow in the Netherlands, so I think the book will like its next destination: France. It's on its way to chich!
