Paperback. Purchased used at the JCC benefit sale.

Schine wrote "The Love Letter", a book detailing what happens when a mysterious love letter winds up pushed into the slot at a Cape Cod bookstore. That was made into a film, which, while it looks hysterically funny in places (with Ellen Degeneres and Tom Selleck), I know it would completely ruin the experience I've had with the novel, so I've never seen it.

I hope that this book is equally as hilarious, though in a different way.

I read about thirty or so pages into this one, and then felt suddenly weary with it all. You know how that is, when the main character is mousy or selfish or a combination, so she breaks out of her little shell (so she thinks) and traipses around trying to better herself or expand her horizons. Problem is, she's so slapdash or doing the wrong things that she realizes, the very best thing in the world for her was right there at home all that time.

Oh, not for me.
