This is a short novel at just 139 pages, but it is engrossing right to its short end.
It is the journey of Hiam, a migrant Arab women from Adelaide to Darwin. Having made the road trip myself, it was great to see the landscape through the eyes of Hiam.
Why Hiam left Adelaide is revealed as the journey progresses. Hiam reflects on past, present, and future life with a stark contrast to Australian life.
