The book starts out with Jane at the age of 12, at the family summer home watching her college brother come home with his latest girlfriend. The book continues by jumping back/forth at different times in Jane's life and her relationship ventures.

I don't know..maybe it's just been to long since I've listened to books on audio and maybe it's something that you really have to keep up with, but it took exactly half way through the book (in my case tapes) to really start feeling anything for Jane. It was alright, nothing earth shattering and it held my attention from time to time.
