Pr. Malik Solanka is an indo-brittish professor who gets through his middle-life crisis. Filled with anger against everyone and everything, he leaves his wife and three-years-old kid for living in New-York.
This book starts nearly like a "normal" novel with a classical plot. But somewhere in the middle, Rushdie's wonderful world and imagination appears. The plot gets out of track, the caracters as well, and I retrieved the Rushdie I like so much.
This is the first book by Rushdie I read in English (and not in French). It took me a lot of efforts and concentration - but it was worth it. The style is superb.
