Joanne Harris tells stories which are good for "lazy afternoons and quiet evenings". While the story itself flows through the everyday, seemingly mandane, life in the village of Lansquenet, it provokes deeper thoughts in the reader as an observer into his/her own life. Or one can just quite simply sit back and enjoy a story!
