This comes at a very interesting time.

I've been to the home of the Toronto Blessing - was so blessed to spend more than a month there - and really believe that it is -and was- a move of God in spite of some of the less usual manifestations reported (though I saw none of those - just a lot of healthy holy laughter which was a joy to be part of!)

But now - 2008 - the charismatic world has seen the LakeLand (Florida) Revival - and I haven't been able to embrace it as from God. I'm very cautious about rejecting it in its entirity - God's ways are mysterious, and less simple than we are - but Todd Bently in particular makes me uneasy -very uneasy. I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water though, and I am convinced that God is at work in some way in this revival - He always meets those who are desperate for more of HIm - but I think that it's good to ask God for the spirit of discerment in this (yes we'll be stretched out of our comfort zone by any move of God - the Bible shows us that time and time again - but it's not healthy just to accept something as ok because others say so.

I read just yestered that a prominent Pentecostal evangelist recently said: “I’m now convinced that a large segment of the charismatic church will follow the anti-Christ when he shows up because they have no discernment.” ... so my prayer is that we will be discerning - but not closed. If that makes sense.
