Since I'm going to be busy with school this year and won't be able to bring all my books with me, I've decided to turn this into a bookring!

The List
1. Zab - UK - (UK/international)
2. arturogrande - UK - (international)
3. lady-anglophile - Kuwait - (international)
4. Mary-T - Germany - (international)<--- Book is Here
5. JennyC1230 - USA - (US preferred)
6. Lumbermoose - USA - (US preferred)
7. Mikavr - USA -
8. imuzak12 - USA - (US or Canada)
9. back to literarylover - USA

Just a few bookring guidelines:
-- Journal the book as soon as you receive it, and contact the next person for their mailing address.
-- Take as much time as you need, but try to read within 4-6 weeks so the ring keeps moving along.
-- Take a moment to journal your thoughts on the book when finished. It's interesting to read other's feelings on the book too!

On its way to Zab in the UK!

Journal Entry 4 by Zab from Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire United Kingdom on Monday, October 13, 2008
The book came in the post today - thanks literarylover!

Added 19 November 08: A super book with the usual weird and disturbing situations that Palahniuk always comes up with. It's not an easy read, but it does suck you in.

Thanks very much - I'm in the mood for some Palahniuk!

Journal Entry 7 by arturogrande from Coalville, Leicestershire United Kingdom on Sunday, January 25, 2009
I was a bit disappointed by the last couple of Palahniuk's novels and was worried that he might be running out of ideas. But I needn't have worried, for Diary is a real return to form. Misty Wilmot is as rounded and real a character as any Palahniuk has ever come up with, and I really cared what happened to her.
The plot - involving a husband in a coma, a sinister island and islanders who may not be all that they first appear - grows darker and more gripping as the book goes on.
The only disappointmenbt for me in this book is that it had to end. I loved it!
Thanks for sharing it, literarylover. It's now on its way to lady-anglophile.

This was received today. But I fear it will take a while until I will get to read it.
If it will take too long, please remind me!
Anyway, I will try not to keep it for too long.
Thanks for the ring!

update:
the book is still safe and not forgotten.
Sorry for the long stop here - but there have been many rings and also I have a quite busy year.
So I apologize.
Right now Nachtengel is reading it since she likes Palahnuik so much... as soon as it's back I will read it straight away and then it will be shipped.
If you want me to send it right now, please let me know.

06-Oct-09
OK - Nachtengel liked the book.
But for me: it makes me depressing. No, not my cup of tea. I enjoyed "Choke" better.
Anyway, I'm willing to try another Palahniuk some time.

The next address is already requested. And as soon as it arrives, the book will be shipped.

I have never read anything by Chuck Palahniuk before, so at first I thought the writing style would drive me bonkers. Very quickly though, the story sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. It's written in a diary format. The characters were flawed and interesting and the suspense and mystery kept me up VERY late one night so I could finish it.

I have already given this to Lumbermoose and he's reading it now.

Journal Entry 12 by Lumbermoose from Woodstock, Georgia USA on Thursday, November 5, 2009
Thank you for sharing! Started this week...

11/13/09 -- Also my first read from this author. In the beginning, I had no idea where he was going with this book, but the suspense pulled me in. Overall, a very interesting book and I look forward to reading more of his books. JennyC has the address for the next reader.

I started reading it. I have sent PMs to literarylover but haven't got any response yet. I have read that she is away from home for school, but she is unreachable during year-end holiday season either. I am not sure how soon I would hear from her. I'll see if I hear from her by the time I finish this book.

This was my first Palahniuk's book to read. I am not sure what I was expecting before I started to read, but humm... it was not as good as I expected, I think. There was a good twist near end, and it was enough interesting to read to the end. Since I live in Key West currently, I was able to read it feeling close to people in Waytansea somehow. Yet, it didn't hit me as much as I wanted it to be. I have "The Fight Club" on my TBR bookshelf. I believe it should be much better than this one.

**to somebody who knows literarylover**
As of December 25, 2009, I cannot get in touch with literarylover. If somebody know her in person or know how to reach her other than Bookcrossing's PM, please help me. Thanks.
