Acquired as part of a readitswapit.co.uk book exchange. Hope this is good!
I recently caught the trailer for the movie (think it was when I went to see Quantam of Solace)... anyways, it has been a tough couple of weeks, long hours hauling away at my desk, so I needed some escapism. Time for Twilight I decided.
Wow! Great book. I can see why teenage girls love this - about 100 pages, more or less, in the middle was all about Edward Cullen, a 17 year old boy who in reality is a 100 year old vampire, trying to overcome his deadly attraction for the schoolgirl, Bella Swan. Sounds incredibly creepy but was actually rather good and hypnotic. So good I have just bought the next 2 books in the series. The yearning romance betwen Edward and Bella was a little mushy for my taste at times but the whole thing redeemed itself in the last 75 pages or so with a vivid ending and compelling fights between good and evil vampires. Who cares about markets crashing? This book took my mind away from it all.
Not sure if I will release this yet. Will probably sit on it until I finish the rest of the series, then I shall decide what to do.
