Michael Palin is awesome. I've watched a couple of his tv series, read one of his other books (I think it was Pole to Pole) and of course Monty Python rocks.
In this book he decides to follow the journey made in the classic novel of the same name (which I still haven't read yet but have a copy on TBR), using only the modes of transport featured and available in the time of the novel (so no planes).. will he make it around the world in the 40 days or will delays and paperwork halt them in their journey..
A good book especially if you enjoy travel writing. Lots of interesting photos.. I especially liked the two page spread photo of Michael Palin standing next to a train.. the wheels are bigger than he is! (in height)
Taking this one along to the meetup tonight.

I'm glad this one was still at the OBCZ. A travel book with photos, a real treat.
Phew, this trip would have been tiring even without a film crew along but what an adventure.
