Wow, my first bookcrossing 10!
An amazing book, thought-provoking, emotional and an insight into the problems in Sri Lanka.
A forensic scientist returns to her native country after a long time as part of an international human rights organisation. Anil is a strong woman trying to put a name to "sailor", a "fresh" body found in an old grave. Not only do we follow her story, but also see glimpses into the stories of other people, minor characters.
To go into Asia-themed Bookbox.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I'm still not quite sure what I made of this. It's certainly a very dense novel set against a fascinating and gruesome period. I liked the multiple viewpoints and stories, but ultimately found it a little disappointing in terms of 'closure' - so many stories are left unfinished. Perhaps the very point is that during times of war, ends are never tied up, people disappear, stories fade away without reaching conclusion. It's a fair artistic point, but a little unfulfilling in a novel. Nonetheless, a worthy read. I'm definitely up for the English patient now. Anyway, I left this book lounging on a table by the pool of the Royal Hotel in Bangkok. Lucky for some.
