Hooking up with a vampire has its risks-but getting pregnant usually isn't one of them. Tell that to Brittany Baldizzi, who finds herself in the family way with no father in sight. After their one night of passion, vampire Corbin Jean Michel disappeared off the face of the earth-or at least off the Vegas strip.

Corbin is a vampire with a cause, secretly trying to find a cure for his condition. But when he finds out Brittany is pregnant with his child, Corbin can't keep his paternal instincts from trumping his bloodsucking ones. Even when showing his hand could cost him the woman he can't help but love.

The book arrived today and I started reading it right away. Thank you for letting me join this ring,Bean-Sidhe! PM will follow soon!

Hm, I really like Brittany, but I think, Corbin is strange. The plot was also a bit strange, especially at the end (the vampire/human thing). It was most of the time a sort of "accidently getting parents-book" and not so much a vampire book. But it was nice to read though and I liked that stuff about Donatelli & Gwenna.
The secret of Brittany´s dad is finally revealed and I must admit, it was no surprise for me. I always suspected .... to be her biological father (don´t want to spoil here).

Thank you for letting me join this ring, Bean-Sidhe. I´ll read the next book now and send them altogether to Schneefee!
Edith: Schneefee wants to read them later, so it`s Tiamat-muc`s turn now!

Arrived today. Thank you for the Ring and the fabulous sign-in service, Bean-Sidhe
22. August: started reading
23. August: and already finished. I still love Corbin, he is such a cutie: a real modern man (who visits baby courses and escorts Brittany shopping) though he has really traditional values (if you compare Ethan to Corbin, Ethan -who is much older- has a more modern comprehension of women). And I love the name Ava.
Now I'm really curious about the story of Roberto and Gwenna (c:

Sorry, I kept these tree for ever, I didn't realize they were rays. I know, in my profile I'm telling the whole world I'd love to read everything vampire, even as trashy as could be, but this series is too much, even for me. It's a simple, shallow and chauvinistic peace of work and I just couldn't get to the end of even one of it and I tried hard.
Awe, this feels like some nice times are really over now.....
Mailed the next reader for adress.

I think I enjoyed the other books of the series more. Still it was a fun read and nice to see how the story goes on...

Thanks for the ring!

Arrived save and sound (on friday in my "Packstation")! I NEED to read the "Wheel of time part 12" first (my nails are chewed down to the flesh!), but then these two books are the next in line ;-)

Edit 30.11.2009:
Started reading and I´m now half way through with the book. I´m sure I´ll have it read the next couple of days...

Edit: Around about the preparatory class for the baby and the vampires behavior in it I have had enough - I tried to get a bit further but to no end... I give up on the series - sorry I kept the book for so long.

Part three and four are on their way to Schneefees parents. They might be there for a bit, bevor she can get them journaled, so don´t be alarmed, if they stay travelling for a week or two.

Journal Entry 13 by Schneefee from Hagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Monday, March 8, 2010
Patiently waiting for me when I came to my parents' last weekend, and since I had just finished another book in a hurry, expecting an urgent ring-book lying around at my parents'... which wasn't there... and I had no other book with me... I started reading immediately! It was quite difficult to get into the story again after reading all those Sookie-books and watching "True Blood" and "Vampire Diaries" since having the first two books here, but I think by page 50 I should remember everything.

Love the colour of the cover, by the way ;-)

Journal Entry 14 by Schneefee from Hagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Monday, March 22, 2010
I had already finished it on friday, with a Journal-Entry almost written out in my head. Then the weekend happened ;-)

Well... I'm afraid I'm too much into "Vampire Diaries" and "True Blood" lately to really like this story. Even compared to these fairly lowbrow reads, this one is so shallow it is almost ridiculous. I hated it how McCarthy is blurring her characters: the mysterious frenchman turns into a lovestruck soccer-daddy and even Bad Guy Donatelli isn't so bad at all.
But!
The book was easy to read and thus very relaxing. I only wish I hadn't spoiled my "fairly nice" impression by reading the last chapter! Sucky, in the meanest sense. Bah.
