Last Orders At Harrods: An African Tale

Picked this up in The Works (3 for a fiver) as I am looking for books for themed bookboxes.
This book is set in a fictional country in East Africa (read Kenya) and is about the battle for a woman to keep trading under the name Harrods, which was her father's English name. Harrords is a bar on the border between the city and the large slum with regulars from both areas. Dark humour, good read.
To go in Africa-themed Bookbox.

Taken from the Africa bookbox as it sounds like a good read :-)
I'm sorry, I'm a bad bookcrosser but I have just found this as I am making some space on my shelves. I did enjoy reading it, found a lot of gentle humour in it but some realistically harsh themes too, so I'm not quite sure what to make of it.
To be wild-released sometime next week, somewhere in Devon - details to follow after release.
The book was waiting for me on 27th June 2012 at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England. As soon as I have finished reading the book I will report back on the experience.

Having kept the book for far too long, I released it back into the wild yesterday at Nymans house and gardens, a National Trust property at Handcross, Haywards Heath, West Sussex. The book is a satirical story set in an African state that would seem to be part of what was British East Africa. A thoroughly good read!
Picked up at nymans around September-ish. Waiting for a suitable place to drop off and will update soon
