I found this one in a discount pile at QBD at Garden City; and by the way it read on the back, it's going to be a good funny book to read. I get the good fun feeling it's going to be very much like 'The Hotel' but based on a tropical island.

10, July, 2009 - Today, I've gotten around to looking around on the net and finding another copy of this book; seeing the original is MIA. I've got a 10-day wait until it comes in. I'll put it onto Bookcrossing and post it off to the next person on the list via registered mail; so we know it'll arrive.

Read in one sitting on Saturday night :) Having read Hotel and Air Babylon I was braced for what Ms Edwards-Jones & 'Anonymous' were going to reveal about the top end of the hotel industry. What can I say? I wasn't disappointed! How the other half live eh? What with Oil Rich Sheikhs arriving with minimal notice, to rich American Billionaires turning up with 6 very young 'lady' 'friends', and with a total power cut and food shortage thrown in, its all go and stress city for the staff.
Interesting indulgent bubblegum reading for a quiet Saturday night!

book just arrived, the package was all torn but luckily the book seems ok. I'm reading another book now but this will be next. Thanks for including me.

This is the only of these books I have read and I can't say it was really what I was expecting, would say it was just an ok book. I wonder though if I could have gotten more into it if it hadn't arrived at Christmas time when I had so much else going on and not alot of time to just sit and read. I've sent a pm to Sunfi but so far no response. If I don't hear from her in a day or so, I'll try again. Thanks for including me.

Just received in the mail today, I have four other rings ahead of this one but I'll try to have it on it's way by the end of February. Just finished this, the story was entertaining but parts of it were a little slow. I already have Caroley's address and I drop it in the mail in the next few days.

Just finished this. I'd read Air babylon before and that was ok, but I thought this was much better. A nice fun read to end a day spent decorating. Just what I needed. It was very funny in parts, and as I worked for a short time in a four star hotel, bits of it made me giggle as it sounded so familiar.

I already have Solskinn's address so I'll try and get this in the post tomorrow, if I can tear myself away from the painting LOL

Okay, as you all may have been following the progress of this book, it's been MIA for 6 months now. And so, I've gone and ordered another copy and am sending it out to Solskinn to replace the original.

Now, we keep going as before and finish the bookring; even though there's only 2 more people on it. The BCID is on the inside front and back covers. I've also written it throughout the book on 'Tuesday' and 'Saturday p.m.'. So, here it is: the replacement for the original. It's smaller and lighter and so should cost less to post. However, I'm going to insure it when I post it off to Austria to make sure it gets there.

Unfortunately there has been a huge delay, but I can now proudly announce that I am finally done reading this book. Thank you so much for granting me extra time, Mozette, and thank you Shelly for your patience.

- It is a great book! I love field reports like this one, where a person who has been in a situation tells all about what it's really like. Nothing speculative about it, just the plain old truth. ... Never would I want to work in a beach resort like the one described in the book; It is only nice for the guests to be there, but for no-one else.

I am so much into this book that I cannot wait to get a hold of the other three books written by Imogen Edwards-Jones (Hotel Babylon, Fashion Babylon, Air Babylon). Actually I recently got a used copy of Hotel Babylon online, which I am going to offer as a bookray when I'm done reading.

The book arrived safely back in Australia a couple of days ago and I'm already half way through it before I even get to journal it. Enjoying it soooo much, looking forward to reading the other Babylon books by Imogen Edward-Jones. Thank you solskinn for posting and Mozette for sharing it (and going to the trouble of replacing the MIA copy so we could continue the ring).

I'm sure I will be posting this back home to Mozette in no time.

Yay! This wonderful and well-travelled book has arrived home at long last. I haven't seen or heard from the first original copy of this book, however I'm so happy you all enjoyed this one. I'll give it a rest before I send it off into the world again with good'n'proper labeling with a nice sticky book label (maybe one I received for my birthday, eh?) and then it may yet go on a another bookring before it's headed out into the world in a book baggie or a trade. Truthfully, I'm not sure where it'll go.
