Blackbird House: A Novel (Ballantine Reader's Circle)
4 journalers for this copy...
This book is a sequence of short stories. Each is independent of the others, but all have a common bond - a relationship with The Black Bird House. Each story depicts a family that lived in or near the cape cod house over a 200 year or so span. It's a fun concept - the reader has a "fly on the wall" feeling seeing the house, grounds and neighborhood evolve through the years.

Thank you so much DK1010, the book arrived safely this morning. I am very much looking forward to starting to read it after work today.
Once again Alice Hoffman has spun her magic with her captivating characters. I loved all of these stories and how they carried me through time with the people who lived in or near Blackbird House. I find Hoffman's writing total escapism and I always feel like I am leaving friends behind when I finish her books. Thank you for the opportunity to read this one, DK1010, I have the next participant's address and the book will travel on the next leg of it's journey tomorrow.

Magic is the word, what a fantastic read this was! This is the first book I read by Alice Hoffman (although I did see the film based on "Practical Magic") and I absolutely loved it. The stories, characters, atmosphere, writing style... I loved it all!
Many thanks for sharing this little jewel with us DK1010:-)
