Letters to Sam: A Grandfather's Lessons on Love, Loss, and the Gifts of Life

Paperback edition with 176 pages.
Product Description according to Amazon:
When his grandson was born, Daniel Gottlieb began to write a series of heartfelt letters that he hoped Sam would read later in life. He planned to cover all the important topics—dealing with your parents, handling bullies, falling in love, coping with death—and what motivated him was the fear that he might not live long enough to see Sam reach adulthood. You see, Daniel Gottlieb is a quadriplegic—the result of a near-fatal automobile accident that occurred two decades ago—and he knows enough not to take anything for granted. Then, when Sam was only 14 months old, he was diagnosed with Pervasive Develop-mental Disability, a form of autism, and suddenly everything changed. Now the grandfather and grandson were bound by something more: a disability—and Daniel Gottlieb’s special understanding of what that means became invaluable.
This lovingly written, emotionally gripping book offers unique—and universal—insights into what it means to be human.

Couldn't really get excited about this. It's ok but just doesn't seem to have much original content. Barring specific circumstances, most of the emotions and topics here apply to anyone. I could have read the whole thing but I didn't feel it was telling me anything new. I'm giving up, and will pass it on to the next reader within the next week or two. Sorry for the delay. Hope everyone else enjoys this book.
Arrived this morning and now top of the reading pile.
Didn't take long to read. I found these letters very personel and touching I would almost go as far as saying this was the authors way of making sure that when he is gone his grandson doen't forget him and the lessons he has tried to teach him about life.
Heading off to Romania on the next leg of this ring.
Got it!
Thank you!
Thank you!
I couldn't get into it. I guess I didn't had the right mood for the letters .. I hope the next reader will be more excited then me!

It is definitely an interesting book, full of wisdom. But one has to be in the right mood to read it. The 3 millimeters of the universe to take care of did impressed me a lot and I'll try to remember it.
Thanks Hakkalina for sharing this book with us.
