Journal Entry 1 by hakkalina from Budapest, Pest Hungary on Wednesday, April 21, 2010
It is a paperback edition with 440 pages. From its cover: Jessie has kept the identity of her son Oliver’s father a secret for years. She’s stunned when she discovers that the man in question, actor Toby Gillespie, has just moved in next door. The truth’s about to come out. One glance at Oliver, and a little mental arithmetic, and Toby has the situation sussed. Meeting the son he never knew he had is the shock of a lifetime. It’s a shock, too, for Toby’s wife, the beautiful Deborah, though she seems to take it in her stride. Would Deborah be so relaxed if she knew just how close Toby wants to get to the mother of his firstborn? As the attraction between them flares up again, Jessie just can’t see her way to a happy ending. But no one is quite what they seem, and there are more surprises to come... After reading the "Thinking of You" by Jill Mansell I have decided to read more from her. This will be my 2. novel from her.

Emotions: high spirits, laugh, sympathy I loved it! It was my second book from Jill Mansell, after it I decided to read all of them... It was a colorful story line, many (~12) characters' life were described and followed in the story interweaving to each other. Though the main heroine was Jesse, at least the story started and finished her (love) story, nevertheless the story was not about her, rather, Lili, Doug, Drew, Dizzy, Deborah, Sav, Bernadett, Harriet etc., maybe these lot characters distracted attention from her, though it was not a bad thing at all. I loved the way as others found their mates as the time went on, their happiness was lovely. However, Jesse's story line was a bit forced, meanwhile others dared to listen to their inner sound, Jesse was reluctant to admit her own wish (causing an increasing page numbers), so Toby had to make spectacular steps to win Jesse's heart (like in Hollywood films), or rather her final 'approval' to continue their life together. To me, Lili's, Felicity's saying yes were much more charming.

The lady at the counter of the post office insisted that I had to write TaDjikistan, as she is totally sure there is no country called Tajikistan. Than we had a short discussion if there is a village called Dushanbe in this country. I´m pretty sure she is still not convinced that this could be the capital city.
