Journal Entry 1 by hobbit from Surabaya, Jawa Timur Indonesia on Saturday, July 05, 2008
I picked up this anthology at a library book sale. It was published in the '70s and is in pretty good shape for its age - just a little yellowed. It contains short stories, poetry, and essays from 38 authors from 15 countries. Some of them I've heard of or read, and others are completely new to me.
The countries included are: Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Brazil, Argentina, Nicaragua, Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Venezuala.

Journal Entry 2 by hobbit from Surabaya, Jawa Timur Indonesia on Friday, August 08, 2008
Because I was pressed for time in my Olympic Challenge reading (reading things by authors from every country in the 2008 Summer Olympics), I skipped over some of the stories in this anthology to get to the countries I needed. Of the stories I read, I found them to be a very mixed bag with many that seemed very dark. I'll put it aside and hope to return to it another time.
