Another fun book about the #1 Ladies Detective Agency. These books just suck you into the lives of the people involved. It's very hard to put these books down, yet you don't want them to end. Fortunately, Mr. Smith is a very prolific writer, so there are more books to look forward to!

There are several investigations going on. One has to do with the theft of food from a local school which, oddly enough, seems to overlap with situations involving a local advice columnist. During these investigations, assistant investigator Grace Makutsi seems to be having several problems of her own to solve. One thing is certain, those fashionable but much too small blue shoes she wants so badly will not bring the happiness she seeks. While Mma Ramotswe urges Grace to seek happiness in simpler things in life, she realizes her assistant must discover this fact for herself.
