Sending to cafekat to begin the bookray. Enjoy!
First, I have to tell you all that I have NEVER read ANYTHING like this in my life...really!
Having said that, I will attempt to make a journal entry that will not embarrass me. Here goes:
This book is FULL of SEX!!! Scoobs says sexy...I say just full of sex. Sexy, to me, is more along the lines of the description of the wedding night in 1000 White Women. There were times when I wanted not to read this book, times when I wanted not to like this book BUT, I read it and I liked it okay. It will NOT be on my list of recommendations for the Colonial Meadows Book Club! You have to understand that I have been "alone" now for quite a while. So, is it better to read this book when you have a partner around or better to read it alone? Hmmmmmmm...that, my friends, I won't answer! I'll just say the Easter Bunny ain't got nothin' on me! ; )

I'm very curious having read cafekat's journaling. But she didn't give anything away and left it to my imagination which could be quite vivid. =P Will PM nicolesinger who is next in line now because I have a feeling I won't be able to put it down. =D
Edited to add: Thanks for the lovely postcard cafekat! I've never been and it looks interesting, will have to make a visit soon.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Did you ever wonder what happens to our fairy tale characters we grew up with? What do they do after the holiday season has passed? They seem to disappear as we grow up. I don't think its fair. I wanted to know more! Well Santa is not exactly the goodie-goodie he professes to be! ;)
I cannot believe it. I read the forward last night. This morning I woke up early and thought I would read a few chapters with my coffee before I continue my job hunt. Well here I am hours later, happy due to a wonderful book which I finished in one shot and still jobless -- it was worth the extra me time! =)
I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it so much! I kept saying - one more chapter, when I get to the halfway point, etc. It was fun to read the grown-up version of my childhood tales and discover that they have an evil side! Santa's magic time...the Tooth Fairy...Easter Bunny. LOL! The story was well written and the ending wrapped things up very nicely. I don't want to give the storyline away as it was such fun to read, all I will say is thank you to the author for saving Snowball.
Thank you WingedMan for continuing this Ray and including me. I agree with Scoobs, I loved this book and could read it again.
I'm not delaying, sending to nicolesinger this afternoon. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I'm currently reading another book I expect to take a couple of days, but I'll probably start this by the beginning of next week, and it looks as though it's a pretty quick read.
(LOL What have I gotten myself into...?)
There's sex. A lot of sex, and a lot of weird sex. I'm not sure what to make of the story underlying the sex. It was okay, I guess. The origin of Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny was a new concept to me and I thought Devereaux carried it off well. I always seem to feel let down by endings, and I'm not sure the ending in this case lived up to the promise of the rest of the book, but it was all right.
What really impressed me was not the story or the sex, but Devereaux's authorial voice and vocabulary. The man certainly can write! At one and the same time he stretches your vocabulary to its limits and keeps the story flowing so well you hardly notice. Nicely done.
I have PMed Bibliocrates for an address and may need to do so again. Her bookshelf states that she is in the process of moving and does not have internet access at home, but it appears she is still keeping up with rings, so I'll give it a few days and PM again. If I don't hear from her by Friday, 9/26, I'll PM WingedMan about moving to the next person on the list.

On my way out the door to mail this off to Bibliocrates at the Morehead City Post Office.
Happy travels, little book!
::oops:: too much information...
This book was outrageously obscene, a nightmare in print, and yet I couldn't stop reading it, loved it! I had never heard of Robert Devereaux before reading this book, impressive prose and use of vocabulary. Kudos to him for having the guts to tell such an offensive story in which Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy carry on a lascivious affair for over three-and-twenty years whilst the voyeuristic Easter Bunny observes, plotting to have his way with Mrs. Claus. Santa Steps Out is a story I won't soon forget, a hilarious degradation of childhood fantasies, "a fairy tale for grown-ups" indeed!
Thank you for sharing this book Scoobs-buddy and WingedMan. I will post it on to mrsordonez this afternoon, looking forward to more thoughts and opinions...
This book is on its way to mrsordonez to continue the ray, hope you enjoy it :)
Finished reading, will have time later to post my opinion, but trying to get this out since it's been a little over a month. Sending out to Jare today.
I have contacted NMReader and should hand this off to her this afternoon.
Will be handing off to NMReader this afternoon at the park.
Santa in this book is not what you are use to reading about....
It was an inventive tale of love and lust.
I apologize for keeping longer than a month but it will be on its way tomorrow.
Thank you for including me :-)
