This was on my wish list for a while as I've heard good things about it. Anyway, I finally succumbed and used my last remaining book token to buy it.

Have to say that I expected this to blow my mind a little more than it actually did. It didn't quite live up to the hype surrounding it, and while it was certainly interesting, it wasn't exactly life-changing. Basically, it's about using data to answer seemingly odd questions, but while there was some fascinating stuff, I wasn't exactly blown away by the conclusions. In fact, some of the results seemed pretty close to what you might expect, rather than being complete revelations.

All that said, it's a better than average read. The stuff on abortion and crime, cheating teachers and crack gangs was all kind of fascinating. The bit on sumo wrestling was, in my opinion, deeply flawed. Worth a look though.
