Nothing links man to man like the frequent passage from hand to hand of a good book."
~Walter Sickers
Enjoyed this one, which was my first in the series to be read. I did go out and buy more so that shows that I liked it!

"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control."

Oh, I'm so excited! Thank you thank you!
I enjoyed this one though not quite as much as some of the others. I was looking forward to Marguerite's story, but it just didn't quite resonate with me as well as the others.
And when there was mention of Lucian and Leigh, I was very confused because I didn't remember Leigh or reading Lucian's story. I've been reading this entire series in order, so I finally had to stop and look to see which book featured them, and sure enough, it was sitting on my shelf, unread. I'm not sure how I skipped it!
Overall I've loved this series, and I did enjoy this book very much and look forward to the rest of the series.
Thanks again, princess-peapod, for sending me this book!

I'm reading the series too ! I don't know where I am exactly as I've read some of them out of order, but the quota will be read in order now :lol
So I'm off organising the sequency now and ... starting to read this, because it sure looks like another great Argeneau !

And a great book it was indeed, one of the best of these series. I loved the way you had the plot figured out by page 1 and still Sands manages to write such a great story towards this climax. And I still think the lady's very funny !

It's actually very simple : once you go Sands ... you never go back ...
Another great vampire novel, I love Lynsay Sands stories and vampire novels are my number one reading vice at the moment. Thanks Bloedengel, for the suprise box full of books!
After seven hundred years of life, Marguerite Argeneau finally has a career. Well, the start of one, anyway. She's training to be a private investigator, and her first assignment is to find an immortal's mother. It seemed simple enough, until Marguerite wakes up one evening to find herself at the wrong end of a sword. Now she realizes she's in way over her head.
Julius Notte wants to protect Marguerite, and not because someone just tried to take her head off. She doesn't know it yet, but she's his lifemate and he's determined to woo her. It's been over five hundred years since he last courted a woman, but surely the techniques haven't changed. Now if only he can keep her alive—so to speak—so they can have that happily-ever-after.

27.10.2013: Another Sands book that deprived me of sleep, I just can't put them down before I read the last page. I think this one had some very interesting plot twists, of course Marguerite's story as it is, but also who is responsible for it in the end. An exciting read, time for the next one!

This book and two others by the same author will travel to Hippolein in Finland in a RABCK-package. Have fun reading!
Arrived today, thanks a lot for sending the books to Finland. Will have to check the order to know what to read first.
That was a nice way to continue the books by this writer, as both stories sort of fit together in some way.
And when you get used to the style of the author, it gets really a joy to read the books and forget a bit what is going on around you...
Now for some reason I misplaced the last one of those that came then together, it will come out some day and then I can get to read that one too...
