A very strange book.
Culture shock is a common theme for science fiction. In this case, someone from an all-male community exposed to the rest of huanity for the first time.
This being Bujold, he gets involved in interstellar intrigue in a big way...
And I love the way his friendship with the heroine works out!

This series of novels is being re-released in combined volumes, each with two novels and a short(ish) story from the series. This not only reduces shelf requirements, but provides interesting author's notes at the end of most of the volumes.
We are therefore upgrading as the books come our way, and the single volumes are being released.

I found this book by the stairs on a way back from a wedding. I'm delighted by this scheme. The book will be in Kettering, Northants until I read it and keep the adventure going.
