From the back cover...

"The classic portrait of two outsiders struggling to understand their own unique places in the world.
Clinging to one another in their loneliness and alienation, George and his simple-minded friend Lennie dream, as drifters will, of a place to call their own. But after they come to work on a ranch in California's Salinas Valley their hopes, like 'the best laid schemes o' mice an' men', begin to go awry."

I'm putting this one in the 1001 book bag.

A nice short book! I managed to read this one during night duty at work. I read this in high school, but I wanted a refresher so I could tick it off my 1001 book list. A simple tale of two men travelling, their dreams and failings.
Thanks for including this in the "1001 books" bookbag.
