Journal Entry 1 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Saturday, June 14, 2008
Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 8 After the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina and the manmade explosion at the vampire summit, everyone—human and otherwise—is stressed, including Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse, who is trying to cope with the fact that her boyfriend Quinn has gone missing. It's clear that things are changing—whether the weres and vamps of her corner of Louisiana like it or not. And Sookie—Friend to the Pack and blood-bonded to Eric Northman, leader of the local vampire community—is caught up in the changes. In the ensuing battles, Sookie faces danger, death, and once more, betrayal by someone she loves. And when the fur has finished flying and the cold blood finished flowing, her world will be forever altered.

Journal Entry 2 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Saturday, June 14, 2008
I'm so happy to get another glimpse into Sookie's world. A lot happened in this book and some of it seemed to get cleaned up a littlle too quickly. And having one major catastrophe one night and another the very next night was a little much. But that is what Sookie's life is like. I have to admit that I'm really glad that she broke things off with Quinn as I never really liked him much (didn't hate him, but just didn't really care one way or the other). Also, although this book left a lot of tantalizing openings for future books, it didn't end on a cliffhanger, which I'm happy about.
