Amazon.co.uk Synopsis
The skeleton is that of a young girl, no more than fourteen years old - and forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance Brennan is struggling to keep her emotions in check. Coroner Yves Bradette is being evasive, insisting the bones are ancient and of no interest. But it doesn't quite add up, and a frustrated Tempe is convinced that Bradette is hiding something...It's not Tempe's case; she's overwhelmed with more urgent work in the lab...But the nagging in her subconscious won't let up. A memory triggered, deep in her hindbrain - the disappearance of a childhood friend; no warning, no explanation...Working on instinct, Tempe takes matters into her own hands. But she couldn't have predicted where this case would lead, or the horrors it would eventually uncover...Can Tempe maintain a professional distance as the past catches up with her in this, her most deeply personal case yet?

Another cracking read from Kathy Reichs. The skeleton of a young girl finds it's way to Tempe's lab. Working on the case in her own time, Tempe experiences long forgotten childhood memories of friends who suddenly disappeared many years ago. Tempe's sister, Harry arrives & throws herself into helping solve the mystery of what happened to their friends & where the skeleton came from.

Thank you PWP; I am about to read Fatal Voyage so nearly there!
It has taken a long while to get this far, but it was worth it. A thoroughly good read. Ryan helps!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
UK Wishlist tag. Thank you for giving me the impetus. I enjoyed it and I hope you do too.
Arrived safely today. Thank you for the tag!
I like to read series in order so I’ve been catching up with these ones as well! Though a tad dated now I’m still enjoying them and if I’m honest enjoying an easy read after a few longer books.
Off to Icila next as a RABCK.

Never disappointed with a Temperance' story. And a lot to learn about the body to boot.
