The trouble with books of predictions (even funny ones) is how quickly they go out of date. This one was published in 1997, but already a lot of the predictions (particularly the technology ones) are kind of quaint. There's a few bits where he sounds quite prescient though, especially about the response to terrorism in the USA (if I was a cynical type, I'd wonder whether the CIA (or whoever the latest suspects are) had been reading his book...) He also seems to predict Google's adsense technology pretty closely.

Pity about the last chapter though, which is a self-indulgent exploration of Adams's spiritual philosophy (made even "better" (not) by his theorising on physics - I'd advise any physicists to avoid reading it, for fear of aneurysm. I only studied physics for a couple of years, and even I was cringing at some of his interpretations.)
