The Under-100 Bookbox of Mysteries, Suspense, Thrillers & Horrors

First, I'd like to credit this journal to Terry Robard's Wine Cellar Journal. It will be initially used to track The Under-100 Bookbox of Mysteries, Suspense, Thrillers & Horrors.

I thought it appropriate to use this wine journal for several reasons, one of which is the fact that I don't document wine in any way. The journal is not in good enough condition to resell and for some unknown reason I've held onto it for a very long time. It now has a purpose, albeit not quite its intended purpose!

This is a box filled with Mystery, Suspense, Thriller & Horror titles that have less than 100 copies registered on Bookcrossing.com (combined soft and hard cover, audios, e-books, everything).

I'm starting this box off with about a dozen books that are mostly paperback. Hardcovers are welcome but know that an upgrade to a larger box will probably be necessary at some point during its travels.

You need to be...
  • located in the U.S.
  • a r-e-l-i-a-b-l-e member of the bookcrossing community.
  • able to include any Mystery, Suspense, Thriller or Horror book(s) with LESS THAN 100 copies of your title registered on the bookcrossing site.*
  • willing to communicate with me if you're unable to get the box moving again within a week or so of receiving it.
  • able to replace atleast the same number of theme-related books as taken.

    * TIPS

TIP #1: It's best to do this before signing up; you might be surprised at your search results. Take your Mystery, Suspense, Thriller or Horror book and do an ADVANCED SEARCH for both the title AND author (BE SURE TO UNCHECK the 'exact' box next to the title and status should be set to "any status"). The results will reveal how many copies of your title by that author are registered on the site. If your title has been registered LESS THAN 100 times, Reserve it and sign up for this box!

TIP #2: Cozy mysteries are fine for this activity or you might want to hold on to them for future cozy mystery activities that are so popular in the forums/fora. I'm just sayin'....

This just arrived today. I have to get a new box, as the post office mangled this one. All books are OK and seem to be accounted for, but one whole corner of the box was busted up and ripped. I'll add this BCID under the box flaps as mentioned.

    I am taking out:

Crimes and Misdemeanors - King, Oates, etc.
Shadow of a Doubt - William H. Coughlin

    Adding:

Under Cover of Darkness - James Grippando
Postscript to Poison - Dorothy Bowers (The only one registered on bookcrossing, so certainly under 100. Golden Age British mystery, not a cozy.)

7/7/08 - Mailed out to Sweet-Pickle and Trekwoman. Enjoy!!
