Interesting, poignant and hope-filled. Esera Tuaolo kept so much of himself hidden for so many years, but emerged from the shadows determined to help others in similar struggles. The story of his life as a gay man in the NFL is a compelling read.

Quite a story. I don't follow football enough to remember him as a player, and I have to admit I didn't read the technical stuff about football very carefully, but the story is compelling even if you don't care about football.

I liked the bit where he compared being gay to being a costumed superhero with a secret identity; it made a lot of sense when I thought about all the comics I read as a kid.
